University of Pennsylvania Indoor Training Facility - Philadelphia PA
The proposed Indoor Training Facility will replace the existing Hollenback Annex. The Hollenback Annex, built in 1986, is approximately 28,000 square feet and is surrounded by the Hollenback Center, Rhodes Field, River Fields Drive and the AMTRAK Northeast Corridor. The building is currently used by the intercollegiate programs as a training space. The project site is bounded in size and configuration by the existing site conditions. However, within these constraints is an opportunity to provide a new facility that enhances the experience of the users and provides a prominent building, visible from the city and nearby expressway. Based upon current site analysis and program development, the proposed new facility footprint fills the site with approx. 73,000 gross square feet, while supplying significant programmatic needs such as a banked track, sprint lanes, and dedicated field event and throwing areas.
